Your one-stop-shop for understanding the
digital switchover

With the digital switchover well underway, we’re here to help you wrap your head around everything you need to know throughout the transition. It’s time to future-proof your services and live up to your responsibilities to your residents.

First time call
failures averaged
20% in 2024

That’s hundreds of thousands of delayed responses from analogue telecare devices, putting people at risk every day.

Critical devices are
failing more often
than working

Some analogue warden call systems are experiencing failures at an alarming 50% of the time, stressing the need to switch to digital.

First time call
failures can often
be a hidden issue

The monitoring centre can’t see the analogue call failure at the time of occurrence, as this can only be identified during later analysis.

Analogue is already at risk and so are your most vulnerable residents

There’s no time to hesitate. This is a golden window of opportunity to set yourself up for success as the digital transition progresses. With analogue systems already at risk, the number of first time call failures is on the rise — which has significant consequences for your residents and your ability to reliably meet their urgent needs on a minute-by-minute basis.

First time telecare calls failed in December 2024

You have a huge responsibility on your shoulders given the safety of your residents is at stake.

That’s why we educate our customers on the digital telecare switch first. So, you have all the facts at your disposal to make your decision with clarity and confidence.

The fallout of analogue and digital

First Time Call Failure (FTCF)

Due to compatibility issues between analogue systems and the digital telecoms network, calls fail to appropriately reach the alarm receiving centre and can result in emergency response delays.

Round trip delay

A round-trip delay happens when the timing between the tones sent by the analogue device is altered when converted to digital — resulting in call failure.

Data malformation

Data malformation occurs when the tones are altered during the conversion to digital. Again, this results in call failure.

End-to-end digital

Digital devices that do not rely on analogue, enabling a digital connection from alarm through to the monitoring centre.
