Our legal basis for processing your personal data
We process your personal data on the basis of one or more of the following legal reasons:
- To perform the contract we have entered into with you for the provision of emergency monitoring services or the supply of products; or
- Because you have given us your permission.
Your data may be shared with Appello group companies for the purpose of managing and maintaining your account and providing products and services you have requested.

This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns.

Our Responsibilities
All employees of Appello who interact with data subjects are responsible for ensuring that this notice is drawn to the data subject’s attention and their consent to the processing of their data is secured, where required.
The Data Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring that this notice is made available to data subjects prior to Appello collecting/processing their personal data.
Disclosure of your data
Appello will not transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area.
We may, under contract, disclose your information to third parties who are involved in providing the Service, including their partners, agents and contractors.
We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries.
We may share some parts of your personal data with FirstPort Plc, which is a subsidiary of Knight Square Ltd, our parent company. The purpose of this sharing is for the provision of IT and system administration services.
We may disclose your personal data to other third parties if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Appello, our customers, or others. Sale of business
If there is a change in the ownership of the company that;

ii) which provides any related service,
we may disclose your personal information to any new owners.
If any of the Appello businesses (or any one of them) are sold or integrated with another business your details may be disclosed to our advisers and any prospective purchasers and their advisers, and will be passed on to the new owners of the business.
Security
How we protect your information
Appello will not transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area.
All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted.
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

Any access request (DSAR) may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you;
- Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased/anonymised from our records – in some circumstances some records may need to be retained for business use and/or service provision, but your personal information can be removed;
- Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply to have a right to restrict the processing;
- Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation;
- Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing;
- Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right not to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling; and,
- Right to judicial review – in the event that Appello refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why. You have the right to complain as outlined in the complaints paragraph below.
We may ask you, to correct information you or we think is inaccurate, and you may also ask us to remove information which is inaccurate.
