Our story

Digital started with Appello

The ongoing analogue switch-off is causing understandable concern across specialist housing and care services about the readiness and effectiveness of their existing alarm systems. This is where Appello shines, by offering digital-first telecare alarm solutions and careline services.

With over 30 years’ experience, we have mastered making the transition to digital straightforward and reassuring for our clients. We ensure every customer is equipped with robust, future-proof, fully digital systems that cater for their specific needs whilst being cost-effective.

2012

As the UK’s largest careline provider, we had early insight into the move to digital. As a result, we developed the UK’s first digital call handling platform, CareNet. Once we implemented the award-winning platform, we became the UK’s first and only digital telecare monitoring centre.

2016

Appello developed the UK’s first digital warden call system. We installed our award-winning telecare offering, Smart Living Solutions, into a Housing 21 independent living property in Durham, before continuing to upgrade over 200 Housing 21 Courts to digital across the UK.

2019

Industry recognition for our digital capabilities grows, as we are awarded 'Best Use of Technology' at the UK Contact Centre Forum awards (we win again in 2023!).

2022

Recognising the growing desire for choice and flexibility with telecare products, we broke ground once again with the UK’s first interoperable telecare dispersed alarm, SmartLife. Enabling our customers to utilise products from multiple manufacturers.

2024

We launched the UK’s most comprehensive analogue to digital telecare converter, SmartBridge, enabling a short-term solution for those not ready to switch to a fully end-to-end digital system.
