Appello are today announcing the launch of SmartLifeDUAL , the latest model of our SmartLife dispersed alarm. With unprecedented connectivity options this new model offers housing and care providers the most flexible and robust digital dispersed alarm as they transition to digital services ahead of 2025.
With inbuilt dual SIM failover technology, SmartLifeDUAL ensures robust digital mobile connectivity through an advanced roaming algorithm and a secondary SIM pathway, provided at no additional cost. Uniquely, SmartLifeDUAL additionally offers Ethernet connectivity as an alternative method of connectivity, providing even further reliability and flexibility.

SmartLifeDUAL continues to uniquely offer intereoperability with leading providers of dispersed alarm peripherals. This means that service providers can continue to maximise existing investments in equipment and provide greater choice for customers as they look to add additional telecare peripherals.
Dual SIM technology provides the ultimate connectivity and redundancy, ensuring that your alarms have the most robust connection, even in the event of a network outage.
Greater resilience at no extra cost: SmartLifeDUAL offers two 4G SIM slots, which act as a failover if the primary SIM is to lose connectivity. Appello provide the 2nd failover roaming SIM at no additional cost.
Market leading SIM connectivity: SIMs are provided by our trusted partner CSL DualCom, and each SIM is associated with a different high quality core network provider for greater resilience.
Unique dual SIM testing: Critically, SmartLifeDUAL enables the connectivity of both SIM cards to be tested. This means service providers can have confidence that the failover connectivity is ready for use in the event of an outage.
4G prioritisation: SmartLifeDUAL will always attempt 4G first, unlike alternative products which will stay on 2G if they have defaulted to it.
Additional enhancements with SmartLifeDUAL
Greater reach: The internal aerial on SmartLifeDUAL has been upgraded to provide even superior gain, meaning that SmartLifeDUAL has even greater ability to connect to roaming 2G and 4G networks.
Further resilience with 2G failover: In addition to 4G Dual SIM connectivity, SmartLifeDUAL has been upgraded with enhanced 2G failover. With 3G networks being decommissioned, 2G is the recommended network for failover connectivity when a 4G signal is not available.
Enhanced microphone: SmartLifeDUAL has been developed with an additional internal microphone proving greater resilience and improved speech quality in receiving incoming speech.
No call-back reliance: SmartLifeDUAL delivers the safest possible connection utilising VOIP through a SIP connection. Calls connect to the Alarm Receiving Center (ARC) with all data from the device. The ARC is therefore not required to call back, which risks conflicting calls and data. This can also result in additional costs to the monitoring centre for outbound calling.
