2 min read - Written by Iain Hockings

As we move through 2026, a landmark year for the telecare sector, Appello remains committed to evolving our services and maintaining our position as the UK’s leading digital monitoring provider. To support this continued growth and service excellence during the digital switchover, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Ferguson as our new Operations Director.

Andrew joins us with over 20 years of experience across the financial services, insurance, and engineering sectors. Having held senior roles at Sainsbury’s Bank, Hastings Direct, and ABB, Andrew brings extensive expertise in operational leadership and business transformation. His career includes a proven track record of leading major functions within large-scale service and contact centre environments, where he successfully delivered growth and commercial optimisation.

A Transition of Leadership

As we welcome Andrew, we also share the news that Anthony McGrory, our Head of Monitoring and Customer Services, will be leaving Appello to take on new challenges.

Over the past 13 years, Anthony has been instrumental in transforming our monitoring centre into the UK’s largest and most trusted telecare monitoring service. His leadership and commitment to excellence have shaped the culture and standards that underpin our organisation today, leaving a strong foundation for the future.

"I am confident Andrew will play a key role in delivering our strategy and supporting our continued success," says Craig Barlow, Managing Director at Appello. "His background in leading complex operations and driving transformation is exactly what we need as we look toward the future. I also want to thank Anthony for his incredible dedication over the last decade, the impact of his stewardship will be felt for many years to come."

Ensuring Continuity and Stability

Our priority remains the safety and service excellence our customers expect. To ensure a seamless transition, Anthony is currently leading a comprehensive handover to Andrew.

Andrew will be supported by our highly experienced monitoring centre leadership team, ensuring that our core values of resilience and customer care remain uninterrupted. We are excited for the energy and expertise Andrew brings to the team as we continue to innovate throughout 2026 and beyond.

Talk to us to find out how we can help you with a pain-free transition to digital telecare.
