How does a fall detector work?
A fall detector is a lightweight pendant which can be worn around the wrist or neck. It includes a small sensor to detect a change in motion as well as a change in the height of the pendant. Once the individual takes a hard fall, the fall detector will send an alarm to the emergency response centre. The button on the face of the fall detector can also be pressed to raise an alarm. When the alarm has been raised and gone through to the emergency monitoring centre, the team will speak to the individual through the alarm unit to assess the best course of action.

If the room is dim, vulnerable people can struggle to see where they are walking.
Stairs/Steps
Are a common issue in people's homes, whether it is their stairs to get to the next floor or outside patio steps.
Weather
A person can fall over easily if there is an icy, slippery surface. Or if it is too hot, people can suffer from dehydration.
Pets
They are prone to getting under people's feet, along with their toys or food bowls.
Clutter
Over the years individuals can accumulate a lot of stuff, if not organised and put away, clutter will form and cause individuals to easily trip over obstacles.
Flooring
If they aren't properly secured they are easy trip hazards.
