Former BT Senior Executive Tim Barclay joins Appello as new CEO

Appello, a leading provider of Technology Enabled Care Services (TECS), has appointed Tim Barclay as its new Chief Executive Officer. Tim joined on 1st February and will help accelerate the companies drive to use technology to deliver life-improving health, inclusion and support for the UK’s ageing population.

During his 25+ year career, Tim has gained a strong track record of driving growth, transformation and employee and customer advocacy in organisations large and small – within both regulated and unregulated environments.

Tim was previously Chief Operating Officer for BT’s Global Government and Health division, where he was responsible for its Government Framework strategy and overall business operations and governance. Prior to that he was Managing Director for Sales, Marketing & Customer Experience at Openreach, where he was also Openreach Executive lead for the London 2012 Olympics and for their Organisational Health programme.

“Tim will help drive growth of monitoring, digital services, and integrated healthcare offerings”

“I am delighted to be joining Appello at such an exciting time for our industry” comments Tim Barclay, Appello’s Chief Executive Officer. “By combining technology innovation and our excellent people we have the power to improve and transform health outcomes for millions of UK citizens. Appello already have a very dedicated team who are supporting hundreds of thousands of older people, 365 days a year, through the largest digital monitoring centre in the UK and our own team of field engineers. We will build on these class-leading capabilities to create more opportunities for older people and those who are ill, or less-able, to live more active, engaged lives, for longer in their own homes. In doing so we can relieve some of the pressure on a stretched NHS, and a fragmented social care market, by reducing cost and improving outcomes.”
