We provide emergency alarms and assisted living services to individuals across the UK.Go to site
We’re Appello, the UK’s largest emergency monitoring centre.
We create and manage the software behind the emergency cords, wrist alert devices and home intercoms that keep elderly and vulnerable people safe, secure, and living ‘smart’ in their communities.
Our work isn’t just important. It’s potentially lifesaving.
Our recent growth means we’re now opening a brand new call centre in Chippenham, and we’re looking for people to join us as Emergency Helpline Operators and help deliver our services to customers across a range of flexible hours and shifts.
So, if you’re the kind of person who loves making a difference, your most important career move yet has just arrived.
“My favourite part about working at Appello is the great group of people we have here, and it also allows me to have a great work life balance.”
– Bernie Moss, Monitoring
The role involves taking incoming calls from elderly and vulnerable customers, patients and residents at lots of different locations, and making sure they get the help and support they need.
We often deal with people who are in distress and we need to deal with calls in a timely and professional manner. However, if you’re the kind of person who enjoys being there for people, and you’re looking for a genuine feel-good opportunity, you’ll fit in here.
Some experience of working in a call centre would also be useful, but what’s important is that you have a good standard of secondary education and some computer skills, together with patience and tact, a calm approach, and the ability to work as part of a team.
“A typical day for me involves dealing with queries, and the beauty of the job is that you get to deal with all sorts of enquiries, and help different kinds of people.”
– Alecks Horecka, Monitoring
If you’d like to find out more and apply for a role as an Emergency Helpline Operator here in Chippenham, we’d love to see you at our recruitment open evening at Methuen South between 4pm and 8pm on the 20th November.
You’ll be able to meet our teams of Helpline Operators, get answers to your questions about the role, and discover what it’s really like to work at Appello.
Why Appello is a great place to work
As well as the opportunity to make a difference to our customers, we offer:
“For me, the hours are very flexible so you can work it around your day to day life, and it’s also rewarding to go home at the end of the day and feel like you’ve helped someone.”
– Harry Irvine, Monitoring
