As we make our way into 2024 the planned switch off of the analogue phone network is to happen just next year.
It was announced in 2016 that the analogue, copper wire phone network, also known as the public switch telephone network (PSTN), is due to be turned off in 2025, and all telecare and warden call systems require upgrading to digital. The reason for this changeover is due to increasing demand of fast networks and connectivity. The push to move to digital telecare is becoming urgent and very important within the housing, health and social care sectors.
